CSDs Fairless Cable Glands Seal Navys Flagship

21st December 2015

The helicopter carrier and assault ship HMS Ocean is the flagship of the Royal Navy. It has recently successfully completed its annual major amphibious deployment at the end of 2015 and arrived home to Plymouth.

The 21,500 tonne ship operates six helicopters on her flight deck and can hold, transport and maintain many more.

CSD Sealing Systms were involved in the warships multi million pound upgrade, providing Fairless Glands throughout the construction phases, ensuring a highly effective cable gland sealing through deck and bulkheads.

CSD have a strong relationship with the aircraft carrier project and have also supplied a large volume of RISE Nofirno and SLIPSIL Plugs in the current construction of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier ‘HMS Prince of Wales’. This vessel is now undergoing additional enhancement to support Royal Marine amphibious operations since the planned decommission of HMS Ocean in 2018.
