Simple and effective
RISE is a simple and highly effective multi-cable transit system providing high levels of safety. The system is designed to maintain the integrity of vessels, preventing the passage of fire, gas and water through cable transits within bulkheads & decks. Consisting of only 2 components; fire resistant rubber sleeves, used to guarantee cable separation and as a backing for the sealant layer and FIWA (or NOFIRNO) sealant; a high quality silicone based fire and water repellent sealant which consequently makes the system quick and easy to install.

Fireproof, Gas tight & Water tight
The advanced rubbers used within the system will resist heat and flame assuring total sealing protection in the event of any disaster situation. The system has been extensively fire tested and is certified for use in all ‘A' & ‘H' fire rated bulkheads and decks. More recently a 2 hour jet fire test, used to simulate a hydrocarbon jet fire on an offshore oil rig or a missile strike on a military warship, was completed successfully. RISE is proven gas tight and water tight, even after an A60 fire test, and has been tested to provide up to 6.9 bar of water tightness. In its standard commercial configuration the system is also fully certified to Naval Defence Standard DEF STAN 02-510 for use on main watertight boundaries.
Flexible and versatile
The RISE system can be used in both vertical and horizontal penetrations. The split insert sleeves cling to the cables without sliding down and falling out of the penetration and the high adhesion of the sealant means this will not run or drip when applied overhead. The system is approved for use in steel, aluminium and GRP vessels and can be used on cables up to 105mm in diameter. For cable transits that do not need to be water tight, cables can be bundled. Penetration frames can be designed to suit the specific application and can be either welded or bolted to the bulkhead or deck.
Cost effective
RISE offers a simplified design process and allows faster routing and pulling of cables. This, together with the speed of installation, substantially reduces project build cost and time when comparing CSD products to any competitive system. The small number of components allows for reduced inventory and easier installation of the sealing system and ensures a high performing solution is provided. The system does not consist of any metallic parts and does not use mechanical compression to provide the seal and therefore does not degrade through ‘stress relaxation' as will happen with systems using compression to create a seal. Also, CSD products have been tested to prove they will not suffer any deterioration in sealing performance for a period in excess of 50 years. The system also allows for cables to be easily replaced or added throughout the life of any vessel reducing through life transit costs significantly.
